This week negotiations broke down between Hulu and Sinclair broadcasting, the owner of 31 local ABC affiliates across the country. While Disney owns ABC and Hulu, local transmission of the channel in those markets is owned by Sinclair. For Hulu Live TV subscribers in those markets, they will not have live ABC available. However, they can watch prime-time shows the next day on demand. Currently, Hulu has not provided the National ABC feed to subscribers in those markets. This is unfortunate timing, considering the Oscars air on ABC this weekend. I’ve put a full list of affected markets below. If you are looking for an alternate way to stream live ABC, you can try a free trial to any of these services:
- DIRECTV STREAM – 5-day free trial
- FuboTV – 7-day free trial
- YouTube TV – free trial
