The Utah Jazz are no longer on SportsNet Rocky Mountain. Instead, all but three Jazz games this season will be broadcast on KJZZ-TV 14. That means those living in Salt Lake City and the Surrounding areas will be able to watch nearly 80 Jazz games this season for free. Let’s look at how you can watch the next Jazz game, and all Jazz games this season, no matter where you live.
Watch Every Jazz Game This Season
- Utah Jazz TV Market: Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Central & Eastern Idaho, northern New Mexico, western Kansas, western Nebraska, western South Dakota
- Best Solution when inside their TV Market: Watch over the air on KJZZ-TV 14 with a TV antenna. If an antenna won’t work for you and you live in the Jazz TV market (which consists of all of Utah and Elko, White Pine, and Eureka counties in Nevada) you can subscribe to the Jazz+ streaming service.
- Best Solution when living Outside the Jazz TV Market: Watch nearly all Jazz games on NBA League Pass (sign up online). The Jazz have a few nationally televised games on ESPN and TNT which you can watch with Sling, DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu Live TV, and YouTube TV.
What Channel Are The Jazz On
The Jazz are free to watch if you have a TV antenna and live within the broadcast range of KJZZ-TV 14 in Salt Lake City, Utah. If you live anywhere in Utah or Elko, White Pine, and Eureka counties in Nevada, you can subscribe to the Jazz+ streaming service if you live too far from the KJZZ-TV TV tower. The streaming service will stream any Jazz game airing on KJZZ-TV 14. The service costs $125.50 for the season or $15.50 per month.
Two Jazz games are on ESPN, and 1 is on TNT. KJZZ-TV 14 will not be airing those games, so you will likely need a streaming service that carries those networks. I recommend one the services below
- Sling TV Orange Plan – This plan provides ESPN and TNT plus many other channels. Sling Orange costs $40 per month, but provides 50% off your first month. Sign up at Sling's Website
- DIRECTV STREAM – Carries ESPN and TNT and offers a risk-free 5-Day Free Trial. costs $79.99 each month after. However, you can cancel at any time and cancel within the free trial and you will not be charged..
- Hulu Live TV – Carries ESPN and TNT. It is also the only service to include ESPN+. Hulu Live TV includes Disney+ and ESPN+ with unlimited DVR storage for $76.99/month. (Sign up)
- YouTube TV – Carries TNT and ESPN and provides a free trial when signing up. This service costs $72.99 per month after the trial
Watching Jazz Games Outside of Their TV Market
If you live outside the Jazz market, then most games will be available with a subscription to NBA League Pass. The exception is Jazz games nationally broadcast on ESPN and TNT. To watch those games, you need a streaming service that carries those channels, like DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu Live TV, or YouTube TV. I cover these services below.
NBA League Pass
To watch most Jazz games if you live outside the Utah market, you will need NBA League Pass. NBA League Pass will show every Jazz game except the one exclusively airing nationally on ESPN. NBA League Pass also provides access to NBA TV, so you are covered when they broadcast the occasional Jazz game.
NBA League Pass provides three ways to subscribe:
- Team Pass – Watch live, out-of-market games for the Utah Jazz for $13.99 per month or $89.99 per year.
- League Pass – Watch live, out-of-market games for the Utah Jazz and every other team for $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
- Premium League Pass – Watch live, out-of-market games for every team for $22.99 per month or $149.99 per year. (commercial-free)
Keep in mind that there are blackout rules in effect. Games won’t be aired live if:
- They are being broadcast on ESPN, ABC, or TNT. (NBA TV is included with a subscription to NBA League pass.
- They are being broadcast where you live on the regional sports network’s broadcast area that owns the rights to air NBA games in your area. You will need a streaming service that carries your regional sports network like DIRECTV STREAM (sign up), to watch those games.
The Jazz Game on TNT
DIRECTV STREAM, Sling, Hulu Live TV, or YouTube TV carry TNT and ESPN to watch the Jazz on those networks. Note that NBA TV is included with a subscription to NBA League Pass. So, just one of those services in addition to a subscription to NBA League Pass will provide live access to every Jazz game if you live outside their TV market.
Sling TV‘s Orange Plan carries ESPN and TNT for a cost of $40 per month. Signing up for this Sling Plan and NBA League Pass will allow you to watch all 82 Jazz games this season if you live outside of their TV market. You pay month to month with no contract and can cancel at any time. The service supports iOS, Android, Fire TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, and more. The base price includes a cloud DVR. DIRECTV STREAM includes TNT and ESPN and costs $79.99 per month. The service carries ABC which also airs NBA games. NBA TV is available on an upgraded plan. You can take advantage of their 5-day free trial. and they don’t force you into a contract, so you can cancel at any time. The service also includes a cloud DVR service and allows you to simultaneously stream to an unlimited number of devices in the home, and up to 3 outside the home. DIRECTV STREAM is supported on Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, iOS, Android, Roku, and more. See our review of DIRECTV STREAM for more details on this streaming service.
YouTube TV also provides TNT and ESPN in their base package for $72.99 per month if you live in their broadcast area. YouTube TV also includes ESPN, ABC, and TNT which air nationally broadcasted NBA games throughout the season. The live streaming service also includes a DVR and supports Android, iOS, Apple TV, Fire TV, Chromecast, and more.
