This guide explains how to watch the next Sharks game and how to watch Sharks games all season, even if you don’t have cable.
The Short Answer
If you live in the San Jose Sharks TV market, most home games will air on NBC Sports California. The Sharks have a few games that will air exclusively on ESPN+ this season. Those games will blackout your local NBC Sports California broadcast. You can get around this by subscribing to Hulu Live TV, as the base channel plan includes ESPN+ and NBC Sports California. While the Sharks have no games on ESPN (different from ESPN+) and TNT this season, those channels are included in Hulu Live TV and air nationally televised NHL games.
If you live outside the Sharks TV Market, then ESPN+ will carry any Sharks Game that isn’t exclusive to a national broadcast as long as you don’t live in the opposing team’s market. While you could subscribe to Hulu Live TV and have access to ESPN+, ESPN, and TNT, you can directly subscribe to ESPN+ for just $10.99 per month and watch every Sharks game.
Read on to learn how you can stream the next Sharks game and every San Jose Sharks game this season, no matter where you live.
How To Watch Sharks Games All Season
Where you can watch the San Jose Sharks depends on whether or not you live inside the San Jose Sharks TV market, which consists of northern California and parts of Oregon. If you live inside that market, you can watch Sharks games on NBC Sports California. However, if you live outside that market, you will need ESPN+. Let’s take a look at your options based on where you live.
Watching Sharks Games In-Market
If you live in the Sharks TV market, you can watch the Sharks on NBC Sports California, the Sharks regional sports network. If you live in the Sharks broadcast areas, you can watch their regional sports network without cable on the following streaming services.
Hulu Live TV
Hulu Live TV offers NBC Sports California at the cost of $76.99 per month after you sign up. The service also provides ESPN and TNT so you can watch nationally televised NHL games. You pay month to month with no contract and if you cancel within your free trial period you will not be charged. The service supports iOS, Android, Fire TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, and more. The base price includes a cloud DVR and the ability to stream on 2 devices at once, but the option to upgrade to unlimited streams. Hulu Live TV includes Hulu streaming library. (see our review of Hulu Live TV)
DIRECTV STREAM
DIRECTV STREAM is a live streaming service that carries NBC Sports California for those living in their broadcast region. However, you must subscribe to their “Choice” package for $108.99 per month. You can sign up online. They don’t force you into a contract, and you can cancel at any time. DIRECTV STREAM also carries ESPN and TNT. NHL Network is available with an upgrade. These are all the networks that air nationally televised NHL games.
The service also includes a cloud DVR service and allows you to simultaneously stream to an unlimited number of devices in the home, and up to 3 outside the home. DIRECTV STREAM is supported on Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, iOS, Android, Roku, and more. See our review of DIRECTV STREAM for more details on this streaming service.
FuboTV
fuboTV is a live streaming service that carries NBC Sports California for those living in their broadcast region. They offer a fuboTV subscription, which you can cancel within the trial period and not be charged. It’s also cheaper than DIRECTV STREAM at $74.99. You can cancel at any time. However, the service doesn’t carry TNT so you won’t have access to some nationally televised games. The service does carry ESPN, and NHL Network can be added through an upgrade. Service is month-to-month with no long-term contract. The service supports iOS, Android, Fire TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, and more. The price includes a cloud DVR and the ability to stream on 3 devices at once. (see our review of FuboTV)
YouTube TV
YouTube TV also offers NBC Sports California. NBC Sports California is included in the base package for $72.99 a month if you live in their broadcast area. The live streaming service also includes a DVR and supports a host of streaming devices. YouTube TV supports Roku, Android, iOS, Apple TV, Fire TV, Chromecast, and more. Like the other services, YouTube TV offers a free trial, cloud DVR, local broadcast channels, and many other features. Please read our review of YouTube TV for more details on their service.
Watching Sharks Games Outside of their TV Market
To watch Sharks games if you live outside the San Jose market, you will need ESPN+. ESPN+ will show every Sharks game as long as that game isn’t airing on your local regional sports network. That is possible if the Sharks are playing your local TV market’s NHL Team. The Sharks don’t have any games on TNT or ESPN for the remainder of the season, so you don’t have to worry about nationally televised blackouts.
ESPN+ is how you watch most out-of-market NHL games in the 2023-2024 season. Not only will ESPN+ show a ton of nationally televised games, but the service will also provide a live stream to over 1000+ NHL games outside your local market, including the San Jose Sharks.
