DIRECTV STREAM is a top-tier live streaming service, and I would recommend it to those expecting more of a cable TV channel guide presentation. The live TV streaming service provides most channels you would receive through more traditional pay-TV services in its entry-level “Entertainment” plan. Furthermore, DIRECTV TV Stream’s “Choice” plan provides regional sports networks (RSNs) like Bally Sports and NBC Sports RSNs so you can watch your favorite hometown MLB, NHL, and NBA teams.

All DIRECTV STREAM plans include local channels like ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, PBS, and more, along with many popular channels found on cable like Hallmark Channel, History, Comedy Central, BET, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., VH1, CMT, MTV, TV Land, Paramount Network, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, ESPN, FS1, SEC Network, Big Ten Network, ACC Network, A&E, Bravo, E!, HGTV, TBS, USA, TNT, TruTV, and more.

The service also provides streaming on-demand, a cloud DVR, and more. While DIRECTV STREAM offers customers its streaming device, DIRECTV STREAM customers can watch on streaming devices like Roku, Fire TV, or Apple TV by downloading the DIRECTV app. Furthermore, you can stream live TV on as many devices on your home network simultaneously with a single subscription, setting it apart from many other live TV Streaming Services. How Does DIRECTV STREAM Work

DIRECTV STREAM is a service option from DIRECTV that allows you to sign up and use DIRECTV through the internet without needing a Satellite Dish and receiver. You download the DIRECTV App to a supported device like Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, etc., log in with your account, and you have access to live TV. The steps are:

On your DIRECTV STREAM-supported streaming device, download the DIRECTV App.
Open the DIRECTV app and log in with the credentials from step 1
Start Watching Live TV through the DIRECTV app. You can also watch available shows on-demand.

While a DIRECTV STEAM account provides access to DIRECTV via the Internet, existing DIRECTV Satalite customers can also log into the DIRECTV app and watch their service.

DIRECTV STREAM offers four subscription plans to new customers. The “Entertainment” Package is $79.99 per month for 75+ channels like ESPN, HGTV, Nickelodeon, and more. Priced at $108.99 per month, the “Choice” package offers most of what is available in the “Entertainment” package while increasing the number of channels to over 105 and adding Regional Sports Networks. DIRECTV STREAM also offers the “Ultimate Package” with 140+ channels for $119.99 per month. A “Premier Package” also adds Max, Cinemax, Showtime, and Starz for $164.99 per month.

Each plan allows you to stream on unlimited devices in the home simultaneously and three devices outside the home. All plans also come with unlimited DVR storage, and recordings are saved for up to nine months. In addition to the DVR, any on-demand content provided by channels on your plan is also available. DIRECTV STREAM has a 5-day free trial period. If you cancel within the trial period, you will not be charged.

Stream on Unlimited Devices Simultaneously

Yes. You read that correctly. Any DIRECTV STREAM plan will allow you to stream any number of devices inside the home. However, DIRECTV STREAM subscribers can only watch a maximum of three devices on the go.

There are some exceptions. Some channels will only allow a maximum of 3 simultaneous streams. It doesn’t matter if you are on the go or at home. The following channels will only allow a maximum of 3 simultaneous streams:

Fox channels: Big Ten Network, Fox News, Fox Business, FS1, FS2, Fox Deportes, and Fox local channels

DIRECTV STREAM DVR

All DIRECTV STREAM plans come with unlimited DVR storage as long as the content is watched within nine months. Recordings are automatically deleted after nine months.

Using DIRECTV STREAM In Multiple Locations

DIRECTV STREAM is one of the best live TV streaming services for households with many devices, as it allows subscribers to stream to an unlimited number of devices as long as they are on the home network. In addition, a single DIRECTV STREAM subscription will enable you to stream up to three devices outside the home network. However, only two streams outside the home network can connect to a TV. A third stream of the network is still available, but it would need to be on a mobile device.

So, YES, you can use your DIRECTV STREAM subscription to stream in multiple locations, but only 2 of those off-home-network streams can be on a Smart TV or TV streaming device like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, etc.

There aren’t many circumstances in which I would opt for this plan. It’s costly, and you can subscribe to these channels individually ( Except for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries). Canceling DIRECTV STREAM

If you want to cancel DIRECTV STREAM, sign into your account and go to “Manage my TV Subscription,” Choose Cancel my subscription and follow the prompts. Once canceled, you can still access DIRECTV STREAM through the end of your monthly billing cycle. If you cancel your DIRECTV STREAM service for any reason within the free trial period, you won’t be charged for your first month of service. If you cancel after the free trial period, you will be charged for the first 30 days of service.

If you choose to sign up with a 2-year agreement, you can cancel within your first 14 days of service and receive a full refund. However, if you cancel after 14 days of signing up with a contract agreement, you must pay an early termination fee. If you didn’t opt for a contract when signing up, you can cancel at any time without penalty.
