If you live in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska and are looking for a way to watch the Mariners, Trail Blazers, or the NHL’s Seattle Kraken on Root Sports Northwest, you don’t need cable. Currently, two streaming services offer Root Sports Northwest in their lineup, DIRECTV STREAM’s Choice Plan with a 5-day free trial or fuboTV, which also offers a free trial. Root Sports is not available on Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, or Sling TV.

Where You Can Stream Root Sports Northwest

Two streaming services currently offer Root Sports Northwest in their lineup, fuboTV and DIRECTV STREAM. However, you have to live in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska to have the channel available. Let’s take a look at both of these services.

DIRECTV STREAM

AT&T’s live streaming service provides Root Sports Northwest their “Choice” package for $99.99 per month if you live in a TV market within Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska. You can sign up online, and they don’t force you into a contract so that you can cancel at any time. The service also includes a cloud DVR service and allows you to stream to 20 devices simultaneously.  

DIRECTV STREAM is supported on the following devices:

  • 4th Gen Apple TV
  • Google Chromecast, 2nd gen and higher
  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Fire TV Stick
  • iOS devices
  • Android
  • Chrome and Safari browsers
  • Roku

DIRECTV STREAM Choice Deal: After a 5-day free trial, HBO Max, SHOWTIME, STARZ, EPIX, and Cinemax are included for your first three months with the CHOICE plan. You also get your first 3 months of the DIRECTV STREAM Choice plan at $79.99 per month. After your first two months the $89.99 is. You can sign up on the DIRECTV STREAM website. There is no long term contract and you can can cancel at any time.

fuboTV

FuboTV

fuboTV offers subscribers local and cable TV channels just as if you subscribed to a cable TV package as Root Sports Northwest is a part of their channel lineup. You can watch Root Sports Northwest through fuboTV online or on your TV using a supported streaming device like a Roku or Fire TV Stick. 

Like cable, Root Sports Northwest is only available through fuboTV if you live in a TV market within Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska. I recommend checking their website to find the channels they offer in your area using this link. fuboTV subscribers with Root Sports will incur an additional mandatory $6 per month regional sports fee.

FuboTV offers a One Week Free Trial, but there is no contract so that you can cancel any time. If you cancel during your free trial, you will not be charged at all. Here are some features included with your subscription to fuboTV:

  • live local CBS, FOX, ABC, and NBC broadcast in many parts of the country
