
You don’t need cable to watch Food Network. Not only can you watch Food Network as it airs on streaming services like Philo, Sling TV, Hulu Live TV, fubo, YouTube TV, Vidgo, and DIRECTV STREAM, but like other networks owned by Discovery Inc, Food Network shows are also available on Max (formerly HBO Max). These streaming services allow you to watch Food Network shows like the Holiday Baking Championship, Chopped, and Supermarket Stakeout on streaming devices, mobile devices, and online. Below is a list of all of the streaming services where you can currently watch shows on Food Network
- Max (Formerly HBO Max) – Since Discovery owns Food Network and the Max App, Max subscribers can watch new episodes of Food Network shows the moment they air, in addition to the entire catalog of Food Network shows. Plans start at just $9.99/month.
- Philo: Carries Food Network and costs $25 per month after a risk-free 1-week free trial
- DIRECTV STREAM – Carries Food Network and offers a risk-free 5-Day Free Trial. costs $79.99 each month after. However, you can cancel at any time and cancel within the free trial and you will not be charged.

- fubo – Carries Food Network and costs $74.99 per month and offers a 1-week free trial

Max now streams Food Network shows as soon as they air so you can watch new episodes of your favorite Food Network shows on Max (Formerly HBO Max), which costs $15.99 per month for their ad-free plan and $9.99 per month for their ad-supported service (meaning a few commercials with every episode). You can sign up here. Max is supported on Android, iOS, Apple TV, Chromecast, Playstation, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and more. Max doesn’t only air HBO content but content from WarnerMedia, Discovery Inc, and other sources. Content on Max includes:
- Watch every episode of your favorite shows on HGTV, the Food Network, TLC, ID, Magnolia, and Discovery, including new episodes when they air.
- All of HBO
- An exclusive collection of new Max Originals
- Select favorites from the WarnerMedia brands Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, DC, CNN, the Turner library, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, Looney Tunes, and more
- A selection of acquired series and movies (South Park being a notable example)
Philo

The next most affordable way to watch Food Network without cable is by subscribing to the streaming service Philo. For just $25 a month, you get over 60 channels, including Food Network, as well as the ability to record as many shows as you like and watch them for 30 days. Philo offers a seven-day free trial. Cancel within the trial period, and you will not be charged. If you continue your subscription, you can cancel at any time as there is no long-term contract.
You can also use your Philo credentials to sign on to the Food Network app and watch Food Network shows on-demand. Hulu + Live TV

Hulu is another way you can stream Food Network. Previously Hulu was known for its vast on-demand streaming library. However, they have added a Hulu Live TV service for $76.99 per month that lets you watch Food Network live. Hulu Live TV is one of the best live TV streaming services available. It includes the following features:

A few Food Network shows are available on-demand with Hulu’s streaming library as well, including Cutthroat Kitchen and Worst Cooks in America.

Vidgo

Vidgo is a newer streaming service that offers fairly competitive pricing over other live streaming services. Vidgo includes Food Network in its Core package, along with over 60 other channels. New customers can sign up for the Core Plan for $69.99 per month. (They offer discounted promo pricing for your first 3 months.)
Vidgo doesn’t force you into a contract so you can cancel any time. They do offer a 3-day free trial, which you can cancel within the first three days at no charge.

FuboTV

FuboTV is an excellent place to go for sports, but it offers many other more general channels as well, including Food Network. Food Network is provided, along with 70+ other channels, on its basic package for $74.99.
Fubo TV includes:

One more price-conscious alternative is Sling TV. Food Network is in its blue and “orange” package, which is $40 per month a month. Sling TV provides a live stream of Food Network, so you can watch what would be airing on Food Network just as if you had cable.
Sling TV is available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, and more, so it’s not a problem to enjoy Food Network on a TV, tablet, computer, or other smart devices. Food Network on DIRECTV STREAM

DIRECTV STREAM is another way you can watch the Food Network. Channel packages with Food Network start at $79.99 per month. A subscription to DIRECTV STREAM includes the following:

In addition to the Food Network, and numerous other channels, YouTube TV includes a Personal Cloud DVR and YouTube Red original series. All this costs subscribers just $72.99 per month a month for six accounts.

Watch Food Network for Free
Most of the streaming services that carry Food Network offer a free trial. You can take advantage of those and watch free Food Network for almost a month or longer if you use different email addresses. Let’s look at the free trials available.
- Philo – provides a seven-day free trial
- DIRECTV STREAM – provides a 5-day free trial
- FuboTV – offers a 1-week free trial.
- YouTube TV – offers a 1-week free trial
As long as you cancel before the free trial expires, you won’t be charged. You can cycle the free trials to get nearly a month of Food Network free. If you get creative with email addresses and payment methods, you could watch free Food Network even longer. Doing this would also let you test out the various live TV streaming services to see which one you like the best.
Watch Food Network on Roku
To watch the Food Network on Roku, follow these instructions.
- Subscribe to a streaming service that carries Food Network ( Philo, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV, Vidgo, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc.)
- On your Roku Menu, navigate to “Search” and press “OK” on your remote
- Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
- Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
- Select “Add Channel” press “OK” on your remote. If the channel is already installed, “Go To Channel” will be an option.
- The App is now installed on your Roku. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. Food Network will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.
Watch Food Network on Fire TV
To watch Food Network on Fire TV, follow these instructions.
- Subscribe to a streaming service that carries Food Network (Philo, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV, Vidgo, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc)
- On your Fire TV Home screen, click on the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
- Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
- Select “Download,” and the channel will install
- The App is now installed on your Fire TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. Food Network will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.
Watch Food Network on Apple TV
To watch Food Network on Apple TV, follow these instructions.
- Subscribe to a streaming service that carries Food Network (Philo, Sling TV, Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV, Vidgo, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc)
- Scroll right to the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen
- Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
- Select the streaming service click the cloud icon, and the channel will install
- The App is now installed on your Apple TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. Food Network will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.
Food Network app On Roku, Firestick, and More
While all the streaming services mentioned above are supported on Roku and Amazon Fire TV Stick, you may want to watch some of the on-demand content available on the Food Network app. Not to worry, Food Network is available on several streaming devices. You can even use your login credentials for FuboTV, Philo, Hulu Live TV, Vidgo, DIRECTV STREAM, and YouTube TV to unlock all the content on the app.
How To Watch on Your Device
For our example, let’s assume we have a Philo TV subscription and a Roku. We can follow the steps below to get the Food Network app working on our device. While the steps below use Philo and Roku to watch Food Network, most streaming services and devices will have the same process.
- Go to the channel store or app store on your device. On Roku, it’s called the “Channel Store.”
- Search for Food Network app
- Add the Food Network app to your device and then open it.
- Your Roku device will then show you an activation code and a URL.
- Using a computer or mobile web browser, you go to the URL.
- You will then be asked for a TV provider and a username/password. I’m entering the username and password I use for Philo.
- Once you sign in on Food Network’s website, your TV screen will refresh. You should now have access to all the video content the app provides.
