How to Stream Your Local Fox Channel
Below I cover the streaming services that offer a live broadcast of Fox. Broadcast stations like Fox, CBS, ABC, and NBC are separated into 210 TV markets in the US. While a parent network like Fox owns the local Fox station in major markets like Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, other companies own the local Fox station in nearly 190 of those markets. If a streaming service doesn’t carry the local Fox station, some will provide a national feed of the channel, some will only provide on-demand of prime-time shows on Fox, and some will provide both. Here is how each streaming service performs when it comes to carrying your local Fox station.
Local Fox On Hulu Live TV
Hulu is my choice if you want you’re local Fox station. According to the data we have, the live local Fox station is available in all TV markets in the US, with the exception of Fox 5 in Zanesville OH. Unfortunately, Fox in Zanesville is on a subchannel that Hulu doesn’t carry. You will, however, get Fox content on-demand there.
Everywhere else in the country, you get your live local Fox station and Fox on-demand. Hulu also includes a Hulu Streaming library, that carries past seasons of many Fox shows you won’t find on other services. For example, they have every season of Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy.

Local Fox Channels on fuboTV
Fubo carries your local Fox network in every TV market except for Elmira, NY and Glendive, MT. In those areas you get a national feed of Fox. Fubo does provide Fox primetime shows on-demand in every market in the US. Currently, FuboTV delivers Fox in many TV markets in the US.

Local Fox Channels on DIRECTV STREAM
DIRECTV STREAM offers live Fox streaming in many markets. DIRECTV STREAM is a streaming service, However, since it is managed by a satellite TV company, they have to play by a different set of rules than most streaming services. While streaming services like Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, an Fubo can negotiate directly with Fox for local channel streams, DIRECTV STREAM has to negotiate with the individual local station owners. This makes local channels like Fox much more susceptible to blackouts due to contract disputes on DIRECTV STREAM.
That said, they do attempt to carry every TV market that has a local Fox station in the US. You can see if DIRECTV has any Fox channels with carriage disputes here. How To Watch Fox for Free
Fox no longer uses the Fox Now app. It was shut down in July 2023. Now you can watch Fox shows on Tubi for free without a pay-TV provider log-in. Fox also owns the free streaming service Tubi. All Fox shows previously available through the Fox Now app have all moved over to Tubi. To watch Fox shows for free, download the Tubi app to your Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, or other supported device. New episodes of current Fox shows are available to stream for free 8 days after their original Fox air date. You do have to watch ads on Tubi, but I think watching a few ads is better than having to pay a monthly subscription.
Watch Fox with a TV Antenna
Generally, if you live in a city or the suburbs, you can watch Fox over the air using something as simple as this $25 Flat TV antenna. The free return policy makes it no risk. If it doesn’t get the channels you want, you can return it for your money back. If it works out, you get to watch Fox for free!

Other than an antenna, you can take advantage of free trials from FuboTV, DIRECTV STREAM, and YouTube TV to watch your local Fox channel free for a few weeks, but eventually would have to pay the monthly charge to watch.
Watch Fox on Roku
To watch Fox on Roku through a streaming service like FuboTV, Hulu Live TV, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc., follow these instructions.
- Subscribe to a streaming service that carries Fox
- On your Roku Menu, navigate to “Search” and press “OK” on your remote
- Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
- Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
- Select “Add Channel” press “OK” on your remote. If the channel is already installed, “Go To Channel” will be an option.
- The App is now installed on your Roku. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. Fox will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.
If you do not subscribe to one of the streaming services that carry Fox, you can also download the Fox Now app to your Roku. This won’t be the same as having your local Fox channel, but you will at least have access to Fox TV shows. If you have a Roku TV, you can use the Roku Live TV feature and a TV antenna to watch Fox on your Roku TV.
Watch Fox on Fire TV
To watch Fox on Fire TV through a streaming service like FuboTV, Hulu Live TV, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc, follow these instructions.
- Subscribe to a streaming service that carries Fox
- On your Fire TV Home screen, click on the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
- Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
- Select “Download,” and the channel will install
- The App is now installed on your Fire TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. Fox will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.
If you do not subscribe to one of the streaming services that carry Fox, you can also download the Fox Now app to your Fire TV. This won’t be the same as having your local Fox channel, but you will at least have access to Fox TV shows.
Watch Fox on Apple TV

- Scroll right to the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen
- Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
- Select the streaming service click the cloud icon, and the channel will install
- The App is now installed on your Apple TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. Fox will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.
