You can watch The Weather Channel without having a cable TV or satellite subscription. All you need is an internet connection and a subscription to a live streaming service with The Weather Channel in its channel lineup. You can watch The Weather Channel on your favorite streaming device, smart TV, mobile device, and even on the web.
Watch the Weather Channel Live
Currently, two live TV streaming services provide The Weather Channel in their channel lineup, fuboTV and frndlyTV. Unfortunately, The Weather Channel isn’t available on Hulu Live TV, Sling TV, or YouTube TV. The Weather Channel is part of AT&T TV Now’s “Choice” package, but it’s extremely pricey at $110 per month, so I don’t recommend it. But let’s learn a little about where you can watch The Weather Channel without having cable TV.
fuboTV offers live streaming of the Weather Channel in their “Family Plan” and over 100 other channels, including HGTV, ESPN, FX, AMC, and more. The streaming service also offers live local FOX, CBS, ABC, and NBC in many markets. fuboTV’s family plan costs $64.99 per month after a 1-week free trial. If you cancel within the trial period, you will not be charged. The fuboTV Family Plan includes a cloud DVR, stream to 3 devices simultaneously, and works on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and more. They even offer a no-risk. You can learn more in our full review of fuboTV.
frndlyTV is a slimmed-down streaming service providing The Weather Channel, Hallmark Channel, Game Show Network, QVC, and a few other channels. Learn more about them on their website. A subscription to FrndlyTV costs $5.99 per month after a 7-day trial and includes a cloud DVR. FrndlyTV supports Roku, iOS, Chromecast, Android, and Amazon Fire TV.
The Weather Channel App
Unfortunately, The Weather Channel app doesn’t work unless you have the username and password to a cable provider account. However, The Weather Channel streams free local weather forecasts and information through the Local Now App. It also has a service that streams your local weather forecasts and information. It is one of the best ways to stream your live local weather online. Also, you can get local news, sports, and other short-form local information. As a bonus, you can also stream free movies and TV shows through the service. Although, you will have to watch some ads.
Local Now is available free through the “Local Now App” on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android Devices. Local Now is free, but you can also watch Local Now on streaming services like FuboTV, Sling TV, Hulu+Live TV,and YouTube TV.
Shows on The Weather Channel
Aside from news and weather updates, The Weather Channel also airs TV shows where the weather is the focus in prime-time. Below are some of the shows currently airing on The Weather Channel.
American Super/Natural – Formerly called “Wicked in the Weather,” American Super/Natural gives a never-before-seen look into the Earth sciences as seen through the real weather-based origins of America’s most frightening legends like a “bad moon rising” or a “wicked wind blowing.” This show applies science to the supernatural.
Highway Thru Hell – A look into the reality of “Jamie Davis Heavy Rescue” as his team clears major wrecks on The Coquihalla, one of the most treacherous major highways in the world. This terrifying stretch of road runs through the mountains in British Columbia, known for brutal weather and white knuckle driving. Many who travel through here at the wrong time don’t make it back alive.
Secrets Of The Earth – This science series explores our planet with the same sense of awe and wonder normally reserved for alien worlds. High-end computer graphics, fun visual analogies, and a recurring cast of dynamic experts combine to bring a stunning new perspective to the world you think you know.
