Weather throughout the U.S. has been pretty severe this decade. People who have dropped cable have been asking how to watch The Weather Channel. However, in writing this article, I discovered that The Weather Channel isn’t just for knowing if you need a rain-coat (or a helmet) to go outside anymore.
These days, there is a whole host of entertaining programs airing on “The Weather Channel.” Before we dig into all that, let’s list the options for streaming the Weather Channel online:
FuboTV – Offers live streaming of the Weather Channel along with over 100 other channels, including HGTV, FX, AMC, and more. Also, streams live local FOX, CBS, and NBC in many markets. Service includes a DVR and no contract to subscribe. Works on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and more. They even offer a no-risk 1-week free trial.
frndlyTV – A slimmed-down streaming service providing The Weather Channel, Hallmark Channel, Game Show Network, QVC, and a few other channels. Learn more about them on their website.
AT&T TV Now – Offers the Weather Channel, but it’s part of a massively overpriced $110 “Choice” package. They also offer a 1-week free trial.
Watch The Weather Channel Without Cable
The best way to watch the Weather Channel online is through FuboTV. While FuboTV started as a way to watch sports online, it’s also one of the few streaming services that carry the Weather Channel.
The Weather Channel is available as part of a package that offers over 100 other networks like HGTV, A&E, History Channel, Hallmark Channel, National Geographic, and more.
The service costs $54.99 per month, but you can try it before you buy it with this 1-week free trial. The service offers the following features:
- Stream on Android smartphones, Android tablets, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV (4th Generation only), Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast, and most modern browsers
- A Cloud-Based DVR
- Over 60 Channels included Regional Sports Networks, and Live local NBC, FOX, and soon CBS
Learn more about their service in our review of FuboTV.
The only other streaming services offering The Weather Channel are frndlyTV and AT&T TV Now. frndlyTV starts at $5.99, but channels are extremely limited, offering a handful of channels like The Weather Channel, Hallmark Channel, and QVC. AT&T TV Now offers the weather channel in a channel package similar to FuboTV. However, The Weather Channel is part of their “Choice” package, which costs an extremely pricey $110 per month.
Weather Channel Shows
Aside from news shows to get the latest on local and national weather like “AMHQ: America’s Morning Headquarters,” “Weather Center Live,” “Hurricane Hunters,” “Weather Underground,” and “Weather Recharge.” There are plenty of long-form Reality-based TV shows on “The Weather Channel.” Here are some of the Highlights.
“Heavy Rescue: 401 ” – See how tow operators, rescue, and maintenance crews work day and night to keep Ontario’s highways open and operating even during brutal road conditions through the Canadian winter.
“Strangest Weather On Earth” – Do you like oddities? This show takes viewers to locations showing the oddest weather and geological phenomenon on Earth.
These shows are just a sample of all that is available. Furthermore, everything that streams on “The Weather Channel” lives streams on FuboTV as well. Give the 1-week free trial a try and see for yourself.
Local Now Streaming
Weather Channel also has a service that streams your local weather forecasts and information. It is one of the best ways to stream your live local weather online. Also, you can get local news, sports, and other short-form local information.
