The series is set in the five years leading up to the events of the 2016 spin-off film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which itself is a prequel to the immediate events of the film, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Andor follows thief-turned-Rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna, reprising his film role), along with an ensemble cast, looking at the individual people and communities that helped form the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire. Cassian begins seeing how he can make a difference in the dangerous times they live in and becomes an active revolutionary and eventual rebel hero. In addition to Luna reprising his role, there will be several other familiar faces from the Star Wars franchise among the cast as the series explores the formation of the Rebel Alliance. The ensemble includes Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Fiona Shaw, Kyle Soller, and Forest Whitaker (reprising his role of Saw Gerrera, the leader of the Partisan, a militant insurgant group).
The series is already renewed for a second 12-episode season. Read on for more on how to watch.
