
Don’t Make Me Go, a beautiful new film, premieres on Friday, July 15, on Prime Video. John Cho stars as Max Park, a single father who discovers he has a terminal disease, prompting him to take his somewhat reluctant teen daughter, Wally (Mia Isaac), on a cross-country road trip. While he secretly hopes to reunite her with her estranged mother in New Orleans, along the way, he also tries to teach her everything he can and instill in her the love and support that she might need for life down the road.
The film made its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2022 before getting its premiere on Prime Video on July 15. Don’t Make Me Go is an intimate look at a father-daughter relationship, exploring the intricacies of the bond, as well as the cross-generational divide. It is tenderly crafted by director Hannah Marks, who also directs the upcoming film adaptation of John Green’s Turtles All the Way Down.
