Futurama, the beloved and quirky animated series that first debuted in 1999, returns nearly 10 years after the cancellation of its second run in 2013. First produced for Fox by creator Matt Groening (The Simpsons), the series then had a two-season reboot on Comedy Central. Now, a decade later, Hulu is reviving it once again, complete with the full voice cast, including Billy West, John DiMaggio, Katey Sagal, Lauren Tom, David Herman, Phil LaMarr, Tress MacNeille, and Maurice La Marche.
The series follows the wacky adventures of Phillip J. Fry, a 20th-century slacker cryogenically preserved for 1000 years. Waking up in 2999, he gets a job at an interplanetary delivery company, working alongside the robot Bender and one-eyed Leela, who soon becomes Fry’s on-again, off-again love interest. Along with Professor Farnsworth and Doctor Zoidberg, they explore the universe on a series of peculiar adventures and delivery jobs, often escaping their own ill-planned antics. Futurama will be available on Hulu beginning on Monday, July 24.
For new subscribers, Hulu offers a free trial month and then has several different monthly plans to choose from, including:
- $7.99/month with limited commercials
- $17.99/month commercial free
- $76.99/month commercial-free + live TV of up to 50 channels, as well as on-demand feature
However, the free trial is no longer available on the Live TV option.
Hulu can be watched through Hulu.com online and apps for Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire, Xbox, and mobile devices.
