The latest and hotly anticipated new chapter in the Star Wars franchise, Obi-Wan Kenobi, premieres on Friday, May 27, on Disney+. The series sees the return of Ewan McGregor as the titular Obi-Wan, as well as Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, reviving roles they played in the prequel trilogy 20 years ago. Obi-Wan Kenobi is set 10 years after the events in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which Obi-Wan’s friend and apprentice Anakin turned to the dark side and transformed into the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader, leading the slaughter of the Jedi. Obi-Wan is now living in seclusion on Tatooine, keeping a watchful eye on a young Luke Skywalker (Grant Feely), who is in the care of his uncle and aunt, Owen and Beru Lars (Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, reviving their film roles). The series also stars Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) as a dangerous and ambitious Inquisitor on a quest to hunt down any remaining Jedi, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
