The new music-driven Disney flick, Sneakerella, premieres on Friday, May 13, on Disney+. The story centers on El, an aspiring sneaker designer in Queens, working as a shoe store stock boy for his late mother’s shop. Infused with energy from the avant-garde street-sneaker subculture, Sneakerella is a highly modern take on the classic Cinderella story. Hiding his talent from his stepfather and stepbrothers, El dreams of expressing his creative side in shoe design. Enter Kira King, daughter of basketball star and sneaker tycoon Darius King. Sneakerella is now available on the Disney+ streaming service. The subscription costs $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year. A subscription allows for unlimited downloads of content to up to 10 devices for viewing offline and the ability to stream on four different devices simultaneously.
