Where To Watch Every Star Wars Film
With all the Star Wars movies available on Disney+, it’s never been easier to have a Star Wars marathon. The streaming services only cost $7.99 per month (Sign up for Disney+), which is plenty of time to get all 11 movies in. You can cancel at any time with no long-term commitment. The only question left is what order to watch them in. The movies were released in the following order:
- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
- Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
- Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
- Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
- Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
- Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
- Rogue One
- Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
- Solo
- Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
While this was the order the movies were released in; I wouldn’t recommend watching them this way if you want the best narrative experience of the Star Wars Saga. There is really only one way to bring order to this galaxy.
Watch The Star Wars Movies in Chronological Order
The way I recommend watching the movies is in Star Wars Chronological order. Watching the films in this order takes you through Star Wars’ events in the order that they happen within the Star Wars universe. The order you would watch the movies chronologically would be:
- Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
- Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
- Solo
- Rogue One
- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
- Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
- Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
- Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
- Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
- Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
While A New Hope was the first movie released, the events take place 32 years after The Phantom Menace. The recent addition of Solo and Rogue One taking place between episode 3 and 4 give even more credence to the idea that this is the best way to watch the Star Wars movies in this order. Watching the 11 Star Wars movies on Disney+ would take 1 day, 1 hour, and 7 minutes of continuous watching. So you likely get a Star Wars movie marathon done over a weekend if you account for eating and sleeping.
Watch Star Wars Movies and TV Shows in Order
If we wanted to go even further and had some real-time on our hands, we could watch all the Star Wars Movies and TV Shows in Chronological Order. That would add three animated TV Shows, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Resistance, and Star Wars: Rebels to the mix, along with the recent live-action Star Wars Show, The Mandalorian. For good measure, we should also add in the animated movie Star Wars: The Clone Wars from 2007.
- Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
- Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2007 Movie)
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 TV Show)
- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
- Star Wars: The Bad Batch (TV Show)
- Solo
- Star Wars: Rebels (2014 TV Show)
- Rogue One
- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
- Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
- Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
- The Mandalorian (TV Show)
- The Book of Boba Fett (TV Show)
- Star Wars: Resistance (TV Show)
- Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
- Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
- Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Watching every Star Wars TV show and movie is no easy feat. The total time this will take is about 6 days, 9 hours, and 21 minutes. That is without eating and sleeping, so I would set aside about 2 weeks for this marathon. Oh, and if you dare undertake such a task, may the force be with you.
