While Peacock may have beaten Hulu to the starting gate in dropping its true crime series on Larry Ray, Sex, Lies and the College Cult, Hulu’s new three-part series seems to have hit the topic with more intensity and depth. Three years in the making, Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence pulls from hundreds of hours of Larry Ray’s own audio and video recordings. In addition to this often quite disturbing footage, director Zach Heinzerling includes firsthand accounts from many of the survivors of Ray’s 10-year influence before his eventual arrest. Earlier this year, Ray was finally sentenced to 60 years in prison after being convicted of sex trafficking, racketeering, and extortion in relation to his abuse of a group of students at Sarah Lawrence College. This three-part documentary looks at the origins of his influence in 2010, up through its demise, as well as how the survivors are trying to move forward and rebuild their lives. Read on for more on how to watch Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence.
