The Afterparty, is a murder mystery comedy anthology series in which everyone is a suspect, but everyone’s story is different. Season one featured a high school reunion ending in murder, with each of the attendees trying to recollect the events of the evening from their perspective, and through different film genre styles. Season 2 features a largely new cast, this time, a group of friends and family gathered at a wedding where the groom is murdered. The show features three returning cast members: Tiffany Haddish as Detective Danner, and Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao as friends-turned-lovers Aniq and Zoë, who is now the sister of the bride. The new cast includes John Cho, Ken Jeong, Vivian Wu, Zach Woods. Poppy Liu, Paul Walter Hauser, Anna Konkle, Elizabeth Perkins, and Jack Whitehall.
Season one was a delightful romp and exploration of the murder mystery genre, combined with nostalgic film references and a great comedic cast. Season 2 looks even more over the top and just as fun. Read on to learn more about how to watch.
