MacGruber is back in possibly the most meta way possible. The series is based on a film, based on a Saturday Night Live sketch, which parodied the 1980s action show MacGyver. However they got there, MacGruber premieres as a new series on Peacock TV on Thursday, December 16. The series focuses on our ultimate hero and pilot, MacGruber, who has spent a decade in prison. Now released on a secret mission to take down a mysterious villain from his path, he is in a race against time to defeat the forces of evil. The series brings back three of the original stars of the film, Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, and Ryan Phillippe, as well as Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, Billy Zane, Joseph Lee Anderson, and Timothy V.
