It is based on a true story about a psychiatrist who manipulated his clients for personal gain, as told in the podcast of the same name. About The Shrink Next Door
The Shrink Next Door is based on the true story of Isaac Herschkopf (Paul Rudd) and one of his main victims, Marty (Will Farrell), a man who trusted the charming psychiatrist to help him. Over the course of several years, the doctor slowly begins to exploit and manipulate his patient, eventually controlling his business, money, and life in a complex, dysfunctional relationship.
