Totally Killer, a new feature-length film on Prime Video, is a comedy horror film that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It follows a young woman who travels back in time to the 1980s to try to stop a brutal killer. The movie premieres on Friday, October 6, as a perfect addition to the spooky season.
About Totally Killer
Totally Killer stars Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Jamie, a modern teen whose mother’s friends were murdered on Halloween by the “Sweet Sixteen Killer” in 1987. When a mysterious figure attacks her at an amusement park, she is thrown back in time to the time of the killing and attempts to prevent their murders.
The film stars Julie Bowen and Lochlyn Monroe as the adult versions of Jamie’s parents, Olivia Holt and Charlie Gillespie as their teen selves, and Randall Park as a 1980s sheriff Jamie attempts to convince of the pending murders.
Why You Should Watch Totally Killer
The film has some solid cred in horror and comedy, coming from producer Jason Blum (Blumhouse Television) and director Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe, Fresh off the Boat). It premiered at Fantastic Fest to a solid reception and holds an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film has been reviewed as an entertaining ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously and appeals to horror and non-horror fans alike.
