How To Watch Pop TV

Updated on 2022-07-29 By Dennis Restauro

pop tv

You don’t need cable to watch Pop TV (Formally named Pop). You can watch Pop TV through any of the following streaming services:  FuboTV, Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, and DIRECTV STREAM. These streaming services allow you to watch Pop TV on streaming devices, mobile devices, and online. These streaming services provide the same Pop TV channel you find on cable.

These services provide the live Pop channel and everything available by Pop on-demand. For example, you can watch all 6 seasons of Schitt’s Creek on-demand with any of these services. You can watch Pop through their streaming app, or use your account username and password to log into the “Pop TV” app on Apple and Android devices, Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast, or stream Pop at poptv.com.

Watch Pop TV Without Cable

Now let’s cover a little bit about the streaming services that carry Pop TV.

Pop TV on Hulu

Hulu Logo
Pop TV is available through Hulu Live TV. This service offers a ton of live TV channels. You can see all channels offer in your area with this handy tool: Hulu Channels By Zip Code or by checking out our list of channels available on Hulu. Previously Hulu was known for their vast on-demand streaming library. Hulu Live TV is one of the best live TV streaming services available. It includes the following features:

  • Unlimited cloud DVR storage. (Recordings save for 9 months)
  • Watch on 2 screens at once. (Upgrades available)
  • Comes with 6 customizable profiles
  • Includes entire Hulu streaming library

Sign Up for Hulu Live TV

After the free trial, Hulu Live TV will cost you $76.99 per month. I find it the best value of the services currently out there because it will allow you to stream your local broadcast networks in addition to Pop TV and a whole host of other channels.

For more information on this service, please check out Hulu Live TV review.

Pop TV on FuboTV

FuboTV is a good place to go for sports, but it offers many other channels, including Pop TV. Pop TV is offered as well as 90+ other channels in its Pro Plan for $74.99. Here are some of fuboTV’s features:

  • Pop TV, ESPN, FS1, and more are available in fuboTV’s channel lineup
  • You can watch on three screens at the same time
  • 250 hours of cloud DVR storage
  • The FuboTV app is available on major platforms, including Apple TV, AndroidTV, Roku, and Amazon FireTV.

You can sign up for a 1-week free trial or check out our review of FuboTV for more details.

Pop TV on YouTube TV

In late June 2020, YouTube added Pop TV along with several other channels to their lineup. They also suddenly raised their prices to $65 per month. YouTube TV does include a DVR with limitless storage space for recording your shows. Plus, you can watch your library of recorded shows anywhere! The YouTube TV channel lineup includes Pop TV for $72.99 a month. You can read our review of YouTube TV for more information on the service, but here are the key points.

YouTube TV provides:

  • access to Pop TV, ESPN, FS1, Local Network Channels, and over 70 other channels
  • unlimited cloud DVR storage
  • stream on three devices at once
  • YouTube TV supports Android, iOS, Apple TV, Fire TV, Chromecast, and more. The YouTube TV app has also returned to Roku devices after settling a dispute between the two companies.
  • Includes YouTube TV on-demand
  • offers a 1-week free trial.

Pop TV on DIRECTV STREAM

DIRECTV STREAM Now is another way you can watch Pop TV. Unfortunately, it’s a part of the more expensive “Choice” package for $108.99 per month, so I recommend using one of the previously mentioned services. DIRECTV STREAM Now includes the following features.

  • watch 20 streams simultaneously per subscription
  • a cloud-based DVR
  • channels like Pop TV, AMC, HGTV, Discovery, and more
  • supported on Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Amazon FireTV, and more

You can check out everything this service offers by reading our DIRECTV STREAM Now review.

You can check out everything this service offers by taking advantage of their 7-day free trial or read about it in our DIRECTV STREAM Now review.

Watch Pop TV for Free

Most of the streaming services that carry Pop TV offer a free trial. You can take advantage of those and watch free Pop TV for almost a month or longer if you use different email addresses. Let’s look at the free trials available.

  • Hulu Live TV– offers a 1-week free trial
  • FuboTV – offers a 1-week free trial
  • YouTube TV –  offers a 1-week free trial
  • DIRECTV STREAM Now – offers a 1-week free trial

As long as you cancel before the free trial expires, you won’t be charged. You can cycle the free trials to get nearly a month of Pop TV free. If you get creative with email addresses and payment methods, you could watch free Pop TV even longer. Doing this would also let you test out the various live TV streaming services to see which one you like the best.

Using The Pop TV App

If you subscribe to FuboTV, Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, or DIRECTV STREAM you can watch Pop TV by simply downloading the app for that streaming service. However, these streaming services are also a valid TV provider to unlock all the content available on the Pop TV App.

New episodes of shows on Pop TV become available the day after they air on TV. You can also catch up on full seasons and watch hours of stand-up specials, classic shows, and more on the app.

How To Activate the Pop TV App

The best way to explain this is through an example, let’s assume we have a Hulu Live TV subscription and a Roku. We can follow the steps below to get the Pop TV app working on our device. While the steps below use Hulu Live TV and Roku to watch Pop TV, most streaming services and devices will have the same process.

  1. Go to the channel store or app store on your device. On Roku, it’s called the “Channel Store.”
  2. Search for “Pop TV”
  3. Add the Pop TV app to your device and then open it.
  4. Your Roku device will then show you an activation code and a URL to activate the Pop TV app.
  5. Using a computer or mobile web browser, you go to the URL.
  6. You will then be asked for a TV provider and a username/password. I’m entering the username and password I use for Hulu Live TV.
  7. Once you sign in on Pop TV’s website, your TV screen will refresh. You should now have access to all the video content the app provides.

Supported Streaming Devices

The Pop TV app is supported on all of the following streaming devices:

  • Android Devices
  • iOS Devices
  • Apple TV
  • Roku
  • Amazon Fire TV
