Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a prequel story to Netflix’s smash soapy period drama, Bridgerton, arrived this week to the delight of Bridgerton fans anxiously awaiting season 3 (with a release date still TBA). Golda Rosheuval returns as the imposing and sharp-tongued Queen Charlotte, looking back at the journey to her current place at the top of the ton. In addition, the other grand dames of Bridgerton join her, including Lady Agatha Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and Lady Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell). However, most of the story takes place decades earlier, when an idealistic and romantic young Queen Charlotte’s (India Amarteifio) seeks to find romance in her arranged marriage to King George of England (Corey Mylchreest). Their marriage will be the start of an epic love story that will transform high society as they know it, even as Charlotte struggles to understand the secret behind her newfound husband. The cast also includes Arsema Thomas as Young Agatha Danbury, as well as Michelle Failey, Hugh Sachs, Sam Clemmett, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Richard Cunningham, Cyril Nri, and Freddie Dennis.
