
The Cuphead Show!, an animated series based on the hit video game, returns to Netflix for season 2 on Friday, August 19. The show follows the wacky misadventures of Cuphead and his less impulsive but easily dragged-along brother Mugman. Despite its potentially dark content (battle for souls with the Devil in an evil carnival), the show is primarily crude and physical humor and cartoon violence, and is aimed and older kids and up. It is particularly interesting for its animation style, which pulls heavily from the vintage style of the 1930s Fleischer cartoons, a competitor to early Disney.
