How to Watch Father of the Bride

Published 2022-06-16 By Heather C. Jackson

A couple walking a bride down an aisle

The latest film adaptation of Father of the Bride premieres on Thursday, June 16, on Max. Based on the 1940s novel (and multiple film adaptations), it’s the story of a father coming to grips with his daughter getting married and handling the numerous new relationships that marriage comes with. This time, Andy Garcia plays Billy, the matriarch of a sprawling Cuban American family, with Gloria Estefan as his wife. When their daughter Sofia (Adria Arjona) announces her plans for a sudden wedding to fiance Adan (Diego Boneta), the older pair decide to keep quiet their own news–pending divorce. Couple all of this with Adan’s headstrong and proud father (Pedro Damián), and you have a lot of big personalities balancing warring opinions and complicated relationships. Will everyone make it to the altar in peace and harmony? Read on to learn how to watch Father of the Bride without cable.

  • When Does it Air: Father of the Bride premieres on Wednesday, June 16.
