The new film On the Come Up premieres on Friday, September 23, exclusively on Paramount+. From actor-turned-director Sanaa Lathan comes the story of a 16-year-old girl with big dreams of being one of the greatest rappers of all time. Bri’s (Jamila Gray) dream is bigger than herself, however, as she faces personal controversies as well as her family’s pending eviction notice as they struggle to make ends meet. For them, she has to make it. Lathan co-stars, along with Method Man, Lil Yachty, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. The film is based on the book by acclaimed author Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give).
