About Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin
Initially slated for a March 2021 release, then tentatively moved to 2022 due to Covid, the film finally landed on streaming release through Paramount+ just in time for Halloween weekend. The seventh installment in the Paranormal horror film franchise, the film has a uniquely intimate setting in a small, insular Amish community. Incredible detail in costuming and production design lends it an otherworldly remote feeling, wholly removed from the modern world. Like its predecessors, the film is primarily shot as a documentary combined with other styles of found footage such as phone videos and security camera footage.
