Set 20 years after the previous film, Neo (Reeves) is living again as Thomas A. Anderson, maintaining a seemingly orderly life under the guidance of a therapist and the blue pills he takes to manage the strange things he sees. After meeting a doppelganger of Trinity (Moss) and an alternate version of Morpheus (Abdul-Mateen), Neo once again emerges, taking the red pill to return to the Matrix and help rebels rise against a new enemy in their midst.
