The PNC Championship, formerly known as the PNC Father-Son Challenge, tees off this weekend from The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida. Everyone is excited to see Tiger Woods and his son Charlie take the course and 19 other father and son golfing duos. I’ll list the entire field at the end of the article. First, I wanted to cover how to watch the 2021 PNC Championship, even if you don’t have cable.
This article will cover the event’s times, how to watch, and who is playing in this year’s PNC Championship.
Easiest Way to Watch the PNC Championship: Coverage of the PNC Championship is split between NBC and Golf Channels. Both channels are available on Hulu Live TV which you can watch with this 1-week free trial.
How To Watch The PNC Championship Live
Coverage of the PNC Championship is split between two networks over two days. The schedule is as follows:
- Saturday, December 18:
- 1:30-2:30 p.m. ET on Golf Channel
- 2:30-5:30 p.m. ET on NBC
- Sunday, December 19:
- 12:30-1 p.m. ET on Golf Channel
- 1-4:30 p.m. ET on NBC
Hulu Live TV is a great option to watch the PNC Championship. The streaming service carries both NBC and Golf channels to watch coverage of the event. The service offers a 1-week free trial with no commitment so that you can watch for free.
*While Hulu + Live TV carries NBC and Golf Channel, you can also use a free trial offer from these other services that offer both networks:
- Hulu Live TV – offers a 1-week free trial
- FuboTV – offers a 1-week free trial
- YouTube TV – offers a 1-week free trial
You can watch the PNC Championship on Golf Channel and NBC using the app from the streaming service you chose. However, if you want to avoid switching channels, you can watch continuously through the NBC Sports app by linking your streaming service account through the app. I explain how to do this in the next section.
Set Up NBC Sports App for PNC Championship
Watching the PNC Championship requires a TV provider with NBC and The Golf Channel. We can then use your account for that service to watch the rest of the PNC Tournament through the NBC Sports app. Here are the steps to set up NBC and Golf Channel on the NBC Sports App:
- Sign up for a free trial to Hulu Live TV, have NBC and Golf Channel*
- After signing up, go to the channel store or app store on your device
- Search for the NBC Sports app (It’s supported on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, and more)
- Add the NBC Sports app to your device and then open it.
- Navigate to the Settings “Gear Icon” on the left of the screen and select “NBC Sports Sign in.”
- Your device will show you an activation code and the URL to Activate the NBC Sports app.
- Using a computer or mobile web browser, navigate to the URL in step 6. On that page, select your device and enter the code. Select “Continue”
- On the next page, select “Hulu” from the “TV Provider” drop-down and select continue.
- On this page, Enter your username and password for Hulu and select “Login.”
- Once you sign-in, your TV screen will refresh after a minute or so. You should now have access to all the live, and on-demand content NBC and Golf Channel provides through the NBC Sports App.
The following guides will help you with watching these channels if you don’t have cable:
The PNC Championship on Peacock
The NBC-owned Peacock streaming service will air the NBC portion of the tournament. However, you will need to subscribe at $4.99 per month to watch. Personally, I would use one of the free trials above, but I wanted to mention this for those that already have Peacock. If you don’t have it but want to watch the PNC Championship through Peacock, follow these steps:
- Sign up for a the $4.99 per onth premium tier of Peacock
- Download the Peacock app to your streaming device. Peacock supports Roku, Fire TV, and most streaming platform. See our review of Peacock for full details.
- Open the Peacock app and sign in with your Peacock account credentials.
