To get Golf Channel on Sling, you will need to subscribe to the Sling TV Blue package and the Sports Extra Package for an additional $10 per month. You can subscribe to or Both Blue And Orange ($45 + $10 for Sports Extra – $55 per month), but you must have the Blue package. Sling also offers on-demand, a cloud DVR, and more. Many cord-cutters purchase a streaming device like a Roku and assume you can download apps like the NBC Sports app and start watching. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. Those apps are called “TV Everywhere apps” and require a TV provider login that proves you subscribe to a TV plan with that channel. Luckily your credentials to Hulu, Sling TV, FuboTV, and YouTube TV will work if Golf Channel is in your channel plan. Below is an example of how to activate the Golf Channel app on your streaming device.
Watch Golf Channel on Roku or Other Device
While you can watch Golf Channel through the streaming service apps covered in this article, you can also watch through the NBC Sports App. (Golf Channel is owned by NBC) The instructions below work for watching Golf Channel on Roku, but other streaming devices will require similar steps
- Go the channel store or app store on your device. On Roku, it’s called the “Channel Store”
- Search for the NBC Sports app
- Add the NBC Sports app to your device and then open it.
- Go to “Browse” on the menu to the left of the screen. Under “All Networks” navigate to “Golf Channel” and press the OK button on your remote.
- Golf Channel gives you a free 10-minute preview after which, your Roku device will show you an activation code.
- Using a computer or mobile web browser, you go to the https://www.nbcsports.com/activate.
- You will then be asked for a TV provider and a username/password. If you subscribe to Hulu, select “Hulu”, then enter your login and password for Hulu.
- Once you sign-in, your TV screen will refresh after a minute or so. You should now have access to all the live and on-demand content Golf Channel provides.
