The HBO original film, The Survivor, premieres on Wednesday, April 27, at 8:00 p.m. ET on HBO. Based on the amazing true story, The Survivor is about Harry Haft, who was sent to Auschwitz where he not only survived the camp itself but the gladiatorial boxing matches he is forced to perform with fellow prisoners. Told in two timelines, during the camp, filmed in brutal black and white, and after, a time in which Haft turned to professional boxing, in part as a way to redeem himself and relocate the woman he lost before the war. The Survivor looks at the strength it takes to survive, as well as the cost it can have. The film stars award-winning actor Ben Foster (Leave No Trace, Hell or High Water) as Harry Haft, and is directed by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson.
