Tick, Tick… Boom! is based on a musical written by RENT composer Jonathan Larson. The autobiographical story tells the story of an aspiring composer in New York City who questions his career choice as he struggles to achieve his dreams. Initially performed by Larson as a solo piece in the 1990s, it was revised by playwright David Auburn into a three-actor piece that played Off-Broadway and around the country in the early 2000s. It has been adapted by Steven Levenson (Dear Evan Hansen) and directed by Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda as a major feature film with an extensive stage and screencast led by Andrew Garfield.
