Instant Family is about a couple, Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne), that are successful suburbanites living in California and longing for a family. Being career minded Ellie and Pete have never had time to have kids and decide to become certified as foster parents. The duo cross paths with street-smart but charming fifteen-year-old Lizzy (Isabela Moner). She and her younger siblings are in the foster system after being removed from their mother for drug addiction. Pete and Ellie jump in and take on and foster all three children.
