Santa Evita is a new Spanish miniseries about Eva (Evita) Perón premiering on Hulu on Tuesday, July 26. Or, more specifically, Eva Perón’s body. As the wife of the Argentinian General and, eventually, President Juan Domingo Perón, Eita was an influential political figure. When a 1955 military coup overthrew President Perón a few years after Eita’s death, they hid her body in an attempt to prevent it from becoming a symbol against the regime. It remained missing for nearly two decades as political factions attempted to use the image of her body for their own campaigns.
