The Defiant Ones is a four-part documentary film originally released on HBO in 2017. To mark the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, it is now being re-released on Hulu on September 19. Created by Allen Hughes, The Defiant Ones looks at the unlikely but long-standing friendship between Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. Both street-smart men, they came from two different worlds: one the son of a Brooklyn longshoreman, the other straight out of Compton. But their improbable partnership and roles in pop culture is a compelling story of defiance, determination, and friendship. Some of the most notable artists and pop culture figures are interviewed in the documentary, in addition to extensive interviews with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, including Bono, David Geffen, Eminem, Nas, Ice Cube, Gwen Stefani, Jon Landau, Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, Snoop Dogg, Bruce Springsteen, and will.i.am. Read on for how to watch The Defiant Ones without cable.
