Perhaps the most anticipated streaming return this fall is season 2 of Marvel’s hit series Loki on Disney+. The second season promises to pick up where the first left off, with plenty of wacky time-jumping hijinks from our mischievous antihero.
One of Marvel’s first wave of character-specific miniseries, Loki saw the return of the beloved god of mischief from the Thor and Avengers movies, Loki (Tom Hiddleson). Now stuck at the Time Variance Authority (TVA), he faces his crimes of being a “time variant” and is tasked with fixing the timeline alongside his supervising agent Mobius (Owen Wilson). Things naturally go pear-shaped very quickly.
Loki and Mobius Back in Action
Hiddleson and Wilson are back for season 2, picking up after the shocking cliffhanger in which Loki battles Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) for the soul of the TVA, joining forces (and hearts) with one of his own variants, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), only to find himself plunged into an alternate history yet again–one in which Mobius does not remember him.
Most of the season 1 cast returns, including Di Martino, as well as Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, and Jonathan Majors as Victor Timely, another variant of Kang’s true identity, He Who Remains. Fans are particularly excited about the addition of Ke Huy Quan to the cast as TVA agent and repair technician Ouroboros. Other new cast members include Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, and Rafael Casal.
