As with most cable content today, there are alternate ways to enjoy the channels and shows you want without forking over mountains of cash to a cable TV provider. Here are a few of the cable subscription-free ways you can stream Nick Jr. online.
Watch Nick Jr. on Philo

The most affordable way to watch Nick Jr. without cable is by subscribing to the streaming service Philo. Personally, I use Hulu to watch live Nick Jr. online. Previously Hulu was known for its vast on-demand streaming library. Nick Jr. on FuboTV

FuboTV is an excellent place to go for sports, but it offers many other more general channels as well. FuboTV provides Nick Jr., along with 70+ other channels on its basic package for $74.99.

Nick Jr. is on Sling TV
If you are interested in Nick Jr., a more price-conscious alternative is Sling TV. Nick Jr. is in its “Blue” or “Orange” package, which is $40 a month. Sling TV provides a live stream of Nick Jr. so you are able to watch exactly what would be airing on Nick Jr. just as if you had cable. It includes a Cloud DVR program, so you can record shows for later.
Sling TV is available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast and more, so it’s not a problem to enjoy History on a TV, tablet, computer, or other smart devices. Watch Nick Jr. for Free
Several of the streaming services that carry Nick Jr. offer a free trial. You can take advantage of those and watch free Nick Jr. for almost a month or longer if you use different email addresses. Let’s look at the free trials available.
- Philo – offers a 7-day free trial
- YouTube TV – offers a 1-week free trial
As long as you cancel before the free trial expires, you won’t be charged. You can cycle the free trials to get nearly a month of Nick Jr. free. If you get creative with email addresses and payment methods, you could watch free Nick Jr. even longer. Doing this would also let you test out the various live TV streaming services to see which one you like the best.

To watch Nick Jr. on Roku, follow these instructions.

- On your Roku Menu, navigate to “Search” and press “OK” on your remote
- Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
- Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
- Select “Add Channel” press “OK” on your remote. If the channel is already installed, “Go To Channel” will be an option.
- The App is now installed on your Roku. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. Nick Jr. will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.

To watch Nick Jr. on Fire TV, follow these instructions.

Nick Jr. Streaming App
The Nick Jr. Streaming app is available on your Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, and iOS and Android devices. You can use it to stream Nick Jr. shows on demand. However, you need a TV provider to log in. Luckily, your login credentials from Philo, Vidgo, fuboTV, YouTube TV will work to stream Nick Jr. using the app.
Using The Nick App on Roku and Other Devices
Once you subscribe to one of the services above, you can watch by downloading the “Nick” app to your supported device. When asked for a TV provider, use your login credentials from one of the streaming services above. Below are the steps to unlock Nick Jr. on Roku. Other streaming devices and channels have a very similar process.
- Go to the channel store on your device.
- Search for “Nick Jr..” You will see the “Nick app. Add it to your device
- Open the app. Nick will provide an activation code and a URL.
- Using a web browser, go to the URL and enter the activation code.
- You will then be asked for the credentials of the TV provider you use for Nick Jr. I use for Philo.
- Your TV screen will refresh, and you can stream available Nick Jr. shows on your Roku or another streaming device.
Additionally, you can use the app to watch Nick Jr. shows if you have the login credentials to a paid cable or satellite TV subscription.
