How To Watch The Day of the Dead TV Series

The new zombie series Day of the Dead debuts Friday, October 15, at 10 p.m. ET, on the Syfy channel. Based on George A. Romero’s classic zombie franchise, Day of the Dead takes place in Mawinhaken, a small, quiet town about to turn terrifying as the dead start rising in the local cemetery. While the show airs on the Syfy channel, you don’t need cable to watch it. There are quite a few streaming services that will let you stream every episode of Day of the Dead as they air every Friday.

Where To Watch Day of the Dead

Day of the Dead airs weekly on the Syfy channel, so any streaming service that carries the network will allow you to watch new episodes as they air every Friday. A subscription to the following services will let you watch the show’s first season: Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, fuboTV, DIRECTV STREAM, or YouTube TV.

Watch Day of the Dead Free

Some of the services offering Syfy provide a free trial, which will let you watch Day of the Dead free to see if you like the show. If you want the service, you can keep it. If not, cancel before the trial ends, and you won’t be charged.

  • Hulu Live TV – Offers a 1-week free trial.
  • FuboTV – offers a 1-week free trial.
  • YouTube TV –  offers a 1-week free trial

Where to Watch Day of the Dead TV Series

hulu

You can watch Day of the Dead using Hulu Live TV. Previously Hulu was known for its vast on-demand streaming library. However, they also offer Hulu Live TV service, including live Syfy channel streaming and most top channels typically found on cable. Hulu Live TV costs $69.99 after a 7-day free trial and consists of the following features:

FuboTV

FuboTV is an excellent place to go for sports, but it offers many other channels, including the SyFy channel in its “Entertainment” package for $74.99, so you can watch Day of the Dead when it airs. FuboTV features include:

  • You can watch on three screens at the same time 
  • 250 hours of cloud DVR storage
  • The FuboTV app is available on major platforms, including Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.

The Syfy channel is available in Sling’s Orange and Blue packages. Each cost $40 per month and a Cloud DVR is included along with other features. Sling TV is available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, and more, so it’s not a problem to enjoy it on a TV, tablet, computer, or other smart devices. DIRECTV STREAM

Syfy is one of the channels available on DIRECTV STREAM, so you can use it to watch Day of the Dead. For a price of $74.99 you will get the following:

  • watch 20 streams simultaneously per subscription 
  • a cloud-based DVR
  • channels like USA, Syfy, AMC, HGTV, Discovery, and more
  • supported on Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Amazon FireTV, and more

Watch Day of the Dead on Roku

To watch Day of the Dead on Roku, follow these instructions.

  1. Subscribe to a streaming service that carries SyFy (Sling TV, FuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc.)
  2. On your Roku Menu, navigate to “Search” and press “OK” on your remote
  3. Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
  4. Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
  5. Select “Add Channel” press “OK” on your remote. If the channel is already installed, “Go To Channel” will be an option.
  6. The App is now installed on your Roku. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service

Watch Day of the Dead on Fire TV

To watch Day of the Dead on Fire TV, follow these instructions.

  1. Subscribe to a streaming service that carries SyFy (Sling TV, FuboTV, Vidgo, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc.)
  2. On your Fire TV Home screen, click on the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
  3. Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
  4. Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
  5. Select “Download,” and the channel will install
  6. The App is now installed on your Fire TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. SyFy or USA will be channels available through the app’s search.

Watch Day of the Dead on Apple TV

To watch Day of the Dead on Apple TV, follow these instructions.

  1. Subscribe to a streaming service that carries SyFy (Sling TV, FuboTV, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc.)
  2. Scroll right to the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen
  3. Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
  4. Select the streaming service click the cloud icon, and the channel will install
  5. The App is now installed on your Apple TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. SyFy or USA will be a channel available through the app’s search.

About Day of the Dead

Taking inspiration from the zombie universe of George A. Romero, Day of the Dead takes a typical day in a small town and turns it terrifying. From the local mayor prepping reelection to folks planning weddings and funerals, everyday life is about to change forever as the dead begin to rise in the local cemetery. Suddenly everyone’s lives are on the line and brought together in a fight for survival against a horde of hungry zombies.
