The MLB All-Star Week has arrived, and this article explains how you can watch the 2023 Home Run Derby even if you don’t have cable.

  • Date of The Home Run Derby: Tonight, Monday, July 10, 2023
  • What Time is The Home Run Derby: 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT
  • Networks: ESPN /ESPN2 (for Statcast)
  • Best Way To Watch Without Cable: Stream The Home Run Derby live on ESPN or ESPN2 using DIRECTV STREAM (free trial), fuboTV (7-day free trial), or YouTube TV (free trial). These streaming services carries ESPN in their channel lineup. The free trial will let you watch The Home Run Derby and Watch Tuesday’s All-Star Game (They also carry Fox.) There is no contract, so cancel within the trial period and watch The Home Run Derby free.

The Cheapest Way to Watch The Home Run Derby on ESPN is with Sling TV’s Orange Plan or Vidgo, but will lack access to Fox (to watch Tuesday’s All-Star Game) in many parts of the country. However, Hulu Live TV carries both ESPN, ESPN2, and Fox, but doesn’t have a free trial.

Ways to Stream The Home Run Derby

Below are all the ways you can stream The Home Run Derby. ESPN will have coverage of the derby while ESPN2 will offer a “stat” oriented “Statcast coverage of the Home Run Derby, which includes unique graphics of real-time data such as exit velocity, launch angle, and distance on every ball.

Best Way to Watch The Home Run Derby

Due to having ESPN, ESPN2, and Fox in their channel lineup we recommend fuboTV to watch the Derby. The main reason being they will be showing tomorrow’s All-Star game in 4K video resolution.

There is no contract, so you can cancel at any time.

Sling is supported on Windows and Mac PCs and laptops, Android and iOS devices, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Nexus player, Xbox One, 4th Generation Apple TV, Chromecast, and more.

Hulu Live TV

Vidgo is a newer streaming service that offers fairly competitive pricing over other live streaming services. Vidgo includes ESPN, so you can watch The Home Run Derby. Another streaming service that offers ESPN, ESPN2 and a slew of other channels, and a nice set of features is YouTube TV. The service costs $72.99 per month and includes:

  • access to ESPN, Local Network Channels, and over 70 other channels
  • unlimited cloud DVR storage
  • stream on three devices at once
  • YouTube TV supports Android, iOS, Apple TV, Fire TV, Chromecast, and more. The YouTube TV app has also returned to Roku devices after settling a dispute between the two companies.

DIRECTV STREAM

DIRECTV STREAM is yet another way you can watch ESPN and ESPN2. The channel is a part of its “Entertainment” package and priced at $79.99 per month. The Entertainment Plan includes:

  • a cloud-based DVR
  • channels like ESPN and more
  • supported on Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Amazon FireTV, and more

  2. On your Roku Menu, navigate to “Search” and press “OK” on your remote
  3. Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
  4. Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
  5. Select “Add Channel” press “OK” on your remote. If the channel is already installed, “Go To Channel” will be an option.
  6. The App is now installed on your Roku. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. ESPN will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.

Watch The Home Run Derby on Fire TV

To watch The Home Run Derby on Fire TV, follow these instructions.

  1. Subscribe to a streaming service that carries ESPN Or ESPN2(Sling TV, FuboTV, Vidgo, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc)
  2. On your Fire TV Home screen, click on the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
  3. Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
  4. Select the streaming service and press “OK.”
  5. Select “Download,” and the channel will install
  6. The App is now installed on your Fire TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. ESPN will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.

To watch The Home Run Derby on Apple TV, follow these instructions.

  1. Subscribe to a streaming service that carries ESPN or ESPN2 (Sling TV, FuboTV, Vidgo, DIRECTV STREAM, YouTube TV, etc)
  2. Scroll right to the search icon in the upper-left corner of the screen
  3. Enter the name of the streaming service you subscribe to in the search bar
  4. Select the streaming service click the cloud icon, and the channel will install
  5. The App is now installed on your Apple TV. Open the app, and log in with the credentials you used to subscribe to the service. ESPN will be a channel available through the app’s live TV guide.
