NBC once again hopes to have a ratings hit with a live musical broadcast, this time with the most beloved orphan ever in Annie Live!, airing on Thursday, December 2 at 8 p.m. So far, live broadcasts of adapted Broadway musicals have overall done well for NBC, from The Wiz to Jesus Christ Superstar. This holiday season, they are aiming at one of the most family-friendly fares with the classic Annie. The production will star Celina Smith as Annie, Harry Connick, Jr. as the gruff millionaire Daddy Warbucks, Taraji P. Henson as Miss Hannigan, Nicole Scherzinger as Grace Farrell, Titus Burgess as Rooster Hannigan, and Megan Hilty as Lily St. Regis.
