After high-paid personal-injury lawyer Abigail Bianchi (Staite) loses her marriage and her job due to her drinking, she goes on a bender that leads to criminal charges. She can only practice law again under a senior lawyer’s mentorship, and the only person willing to give her that shot is her father, Harry Svensson (Garber). His family law practice also includes her half-siblings, who he had in two marriages following his abandonment of her and her mother. The cast also includes Zach Smadu and Genelle Williams.
