Bump is an Australian comedy-drama series about Olympia (‘Oly’) Chalmers-Davis (Nathalie Morris), an overachieving 17-year-old student whose predictable and focused life is about to go off the rails. She has top grades, shares an ambitious 10-year plan with her best friend, and her boyfriend checks all the right boxes, not to mention is a doctor’s son. Her parents are in the midst of their own mid-life reckoning when Oly is taken to the hospital from school after collapsing, only to discover she is in labor. Even Oly is shocked by this development and rejects the baby, unable to accept this life-altering and the fact that the father isn’t her boyfriend but Santiago “Santi” Hernandez (Carlos Sanson, Jr.), the laid-back son of Chilean soccer coach Matias (Ricardo Scheihing-Vasquez)–and her mom’s work crush. The two families struggle with how to realign their lives with this unexpected arrival and how to bring their opposing family perspectives into agreement. Meanwhile, Oly and Santi come face to face with their feelings for each other and an early onset of adulthood responsibilities.
